Why Luka in 301?
  It won't be just Luka in 301, but all of Utania will be behind the city. Luka is Utania's premier city for business, commerce and sport and has the country's largest sporting facilities. Construction of competitor accommodation will commence as soon as Luka is announced winners, building accommodation for an estimated 3,000 athletes. The city also has a total motel/hotel-bed capacity of 104,000 (src: Lasanne Chamber of Commerce) to accommodate guests, and will be extended by an estimated 40,000 if the bid is successful.

The weather is perfect in Luka, which sits about 18 degrees south latitudinally, with minimal chance of rain. The city is unpolluted, and has an excellent infrastructure to support the commercial and industrial centres. The population-moving train network is extensive and the best in the country. It is a modern city, with a large population of over four million, a strong infrastructure, and a strong cosmopolitan culture of international and Utani influences.

Luka has little crime to speak of, and Utania is one of the more secure "new Democracies" of Vexillium.

 
 
How will Luka 301 fund the games?
  This bid has the complete backing of the Utanian Federal Government as well as the Lasanne state government. The combined Governments will make available over Û700 million to the Luka 301 organisation for infrastructure and facility upgrading, and for fundraising and operational support for the games.
Please note; ChC 1 = Û3.00, yet though Û700 million amounts to ChC 266M, within Utania, where most of these funds will be spent, this is equivalent to ChC 700M in Christiana.

Below is two charts showing the anticipated source of income and expected outlays. Luka 301 expects a total turnover of about Û3 billion.

What facilities will be used, and what are their condition?
  Luka is well placed to support a Vexgames with a large number of top-class facilities. Those proposed are:

Luka's train network and sporting facilities


  • National Football Stadium - Capacity 100,000 recently refurbished. Primarily used for football (soccer).
  • Vexgame Swimming Centre - Seats 16,000 spectators around a standard 50m x 30m pool. Also has three smaller pools, and a diving pool. Recent construction.
  • Belson Sports Centre - Seats 11,000 around one basketball court, but has fifteen courts in four areas, altogether. Built 294, Û30M for expansion and refurbishing.
  • Hadley Athletics Stadium - Seats 24,000 around a Vexgame-sized track with field. Û80M for more seating, improved track, additional 9,000 seat stadium for field next door.
  • Richmond Football Stadium - Capacity 56,000 around one football field. Built 297.
    And outside Luka, no more than 150km away, the following will be used:
  • Charleston Stadium - seats 39,000; for games only.
  • Cardinia Park, Geelong - seats 34,000; for games only.
  • Waikato Stadium, Hamilton - seats 21,500; for games only
  • Charleston Sporting complex - seats 7,000 around a basketball court, for fencing et al
    And in Vela Luka and Utan Krysaror, no more than football matches will be played at the following facilities:
  • Nystonia Football Park, Vela Luka - seats 47,000; built 271, but in very good condition.
  • Utanian National Stadium - seats 94,000; recently refurbished.
 		 
 
Culture: opening and closing the games.
  Utania has a long and rich culture, and over three thousand years of history. From this backdrop we shall develop world-class ceremonies that will impress locals and stun the world. The magnificent Savaj Imperial period, with its artistic and learning renaissance; the magnificent Tuaman pyramids; the fortresses of the old warring tribes; all a rich and vital source of inspiration for the very best in our artistic talents who will help devise the opening and closing ceremonies of the 301 Vexgames.

 
 
Therefore...
  Luka has top-class stadium facilities, world-class infrastructure and transport facilities, the full financial backing of the national and state Utanian governments, a rigid financial organisation that will deliver ChC100 million in returns to the IVC, and a commitment to provide for Vexillium the best in sporting and artistic entertainment.
