Worker fears of Utani prompt Liberal Nationalist win
Saturday, November 17, 301 AP Web posted at 1912 UST. The inner city seat of Croydon appears to have returned the Liberal Nationalists, as the results begin to pour through the door for this 301 AP Lasanne state election. Of the approx. 76,000 voters in Croydon, about one tenth of those have been counted, yet they are showing a strong return by the Liberal Nationalist Party. Croydon, a heavily urban and industrial electorate, with a low average wage and a high proportion of manufacturing workers, is renowned for electing Republican MPs.
Professor David Kapur, offering analysis for Zeitgeist News tonight, which is broadcasting on Utania's Channel Two, said the key was the large number of Utani who have moved into the area recently, creating frictions with the largely Uta-Decashi population, and by their voting Utani-Saedaj rather than Republican that would be the two main causes. Asked what friction had been created by the Utani residents, Prof. Kapur explained that Utani had been largely freed to live and work in Luka in greater numbers, and were undercutting blue collar wages. "The Uta-Decashi blue collar workers in the Richmond region of Luka are finding thousands of Utani move into their areas, and taking their jobs without belonging to unions", he explained. "This is undermining wages in the area and causing quite a problem. The Liberal Nationalists are quite right wing, but, curiously, somewhat pro-union." "The result will be a victory to the Liberal Nationalists", Professor Kapur predicted. Related Stories Kapur: "Lasanne could be Hope's end" Lasanne state election poll |
