That's the thing about the internet; you can never be sure where you are
looking... physically, I mean.
You have crossed into an alternative universe, to an earth-like planet called
Vexillium, third from a yellow star known by the locals as Sol.
Yeah, serious. ;-)
The planet is largely water, but for seven continents with a diverse population
of peoples, from Utani, to Pentians, to Lendians, Zartanians, Westrians, Pataki,
Armatirian, and many, many others. These peoples are largely at peace, though wars
have been known to flair from time to time. Nothing on an Earth scale, however. In
fact, the biggest event in recent Vexillium history was the great plague that wiped
out millions of people and devastated empires and kingdoms, three hundred years ago.
The international calendar is based on the beginning of that event.
Jaggedblue.com is the self-proclaimed earth-based portal to the planet
of Vexillium, though there most certainly are others. It features news, articles,
and various links to events and news around Vexillium, though it most assuredly the
Utanian-focused portal, featuring Utanian news primarily.
All over the front page of Jaggedblue.com you will find numerous links to
other sites all around Vexillium. Please note that while there will be some
references to URLs that do not exist on Earth, so the link has been altered to the
earth-based link to the Vexillium site even though the link text may suggest
otherwise.
Please also note that the tags <tech> and </tech>
refer to authors notes, to notes for Earth-bound readers so that they
may understand what Vexillium-based people are referring to.
Feel free to tour about.

JPG, GIF and other image files
This site contains numerous photograph images in JPG and GIF format that may, in
fact, be copyrighted by other parties elsewhere. These images have been used in the
"free spirit" of the internet, that is, this is only a personal site and no income,
let alone profit, is make from any of this. These have been sourced from a great
variety of sources, and no records have been kept.
So, if the image legally belongs to you, and you are not prepared to allow it
to be used on this site, then please contact me directly at
admin@jaggedblue.com and we can have it
removed.
Why use pictures at all? Because a site without pictures would be a boring
site indeed, non?
Images of Public figure to represent Vexillium characters
Certain images of people have been used so as to imply that the
image is the person being referred to. Again, these have been used purely in the
spirit of the internet, for non-profit purposes. Also, I have been particularly
careful to use ONLY public figures.
NO inference should be taken from ANY of the associations that are drawn by this
site. That is to say that although it might show a picture of Boris Becker next to
the headline "Sergei in trouble from tax department", SHOULD NOT
imply that I have anything to say about Boris Becker.
Again, if there is issues of image copyright, that is, of the actual image,
see above.
In addition, should the person involved find grounds for objection to their
public name being used in this way on this site, please contact me about having it
removed.
Again, I would stress that the images of people are only meant to serve as a...
suggestion of what the Vexillium character would look like. On Vexillium, the people
look like little green men to Earthlings, and since all we little green men look
alike to you humans, we must use Earth-based public figures to provide an suggested
look for the character.
How do you choose the people? Good question.
Author copyrighted materials.
Finally, the material on this site is copyrighted by the author, Mike Ham, except
where there is a pre-existing copyright, such as photographic images, other images,
material copyrighted by other authors of Vexillium, including the game creator and
Über-author, Edward Mooney.
All rights are reserved.
However, once more, in the spirit of the Internet, and in the spirit of the
Vexillium, use is permitted of character names and other copyrighted material in
Vexillium context. For other purposes, rights are limited on a permission basis.
In other words, if you're part of Vexillium, free use is permitted, otherwise
seek the site author's permission through: admin@jaggedblue.com
I think that covers everything. Please, feel free to let me know if it doesn't.
Not that I am seeking to over-legalise the internet. I am happy enough to live in
the spirit of the internet: If it's non-profit, it's free-for-all.

What do the Vexilli-ites REALLY look like?
They have swishing tails, their bodies are grey and scaly and they speak in
clicks... WHAT WOULD I KNOW?? Next question!
Have they traveled into space?
Curiously, no.
They have not been into space, though there is a satellite network in space,
and dogs and other animals have been up there, but not the people themselves. The
claim of "first man in space" is yet to be made, it is believed.
Have they been to earth?
Well, not if they haven't been in space. No.
What happened to bring them to earth?
Well, thing is, I COULD tell you, but then I'd have to shred you. Y'know, national
security an' all.
What is the planet like?
Cloudy, it is said, though independent verification is yet to be achieved. Which
is the main reason there are few photographs of the planet from afar, only the most
excellent graphic at the top of this page. <grin>
Atop this cloud, the planet is apparently a bit cooler than earth, not as hot at
the equator. However, with the cloud cover, it's obviously a lot more humid. Yet,
this is only speculative.
A full climatological assessment and explanation of the planet is currently
being undertaken, and will be released in time. Check back at Jaggedblue.com in the
future.
To other features: geologically, it is about the same age as Earth, but it
has far less land mass (that is known about) than Earth: about 80% of the planet is
covered in water, compared to 75% on earth.
What is Jaggedblue.com?
Ah, well, if you've not been paying attention, then start from the top of this
page again, and start reading.
PS; Is it obvious to anyone yet that this is a fictional planet?
